Insurance121 is proud to be a sponsor of the inaugural “Shop with a Cop”. These kids – 43 of them - got to shop for themselves or for holiday gifts - with an Elk Grove police officer or fireman. Thank you to Walmart, Cosumnes, Community Services District, Elk Grove Police Department and Rotary Club of Laguna Sunrise for putting this on. Building trust and good will in the community.
BNI Turkey Giving November 2017
13th Annual Taste of Elk Grove: Rotary Club of Laguna Sunrise
The annual taste of Elk Grove has come to a close and was a huge success. All proceeds from this event are used to fund worthwhile projects that benefit the community. The photos below showcase few of the many participants of the event including Journey to the Dumpling, Alaskan Brewing Co., Baguette's Deli and Rescate Coffee. All because of “drop some dollars in the cornucopia” at our weekly meeting – 29 turkeys delivered to Elk Grove Food Bank Services.
Running of the Elk Half Marathon: Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation
The EGYSF program was spearheaded in 2007 by Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis, who serves as the organization’s president. When it was brought to his attention that a parent could not afford the league fees that would enable her child to play soccer, he knew something had to be done. He enlisted the aid of a group of concerned residents, and together they formed a nonprofit organization to provide opportunities for young children to pursue their dreams.
“We want to help kids who can’t afford to play sports,” says Davis. “As citizens, it is our duty to help children learn new skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. The foundation provides an avenue for all children to play sports, and it gives them a true sense of belonging. They learn life-long lessons about working with others in a team setting, and it teaches them to look out for others, too.”
Laguna Sunrise Rotary Coat Drive
We are currently supporting and participating in the annual Laguna Sunrise Rotary coat drive. Last year we gave 350 new and gently used coats to the Elk Grove Food Bank Services. This year, the goal is 400. With the support of local merchants who’ve volunteered their locations as drop-off, we’ll easily surpass that number!
Elk Grove Rotary Beef and Reef Bash
Our biggest fundraising event of the year, the Beef and Reef is a fun event full of entertainment tri-tip and barbequed oysters and drinks. This event supports numerous community projects such as the Elk Grove Senior Center, Food bank, Polio Plus, and many more. Over 400 tickets were sold for this years event and it was a huge success! Our Communities and Us
Insurance121 is locally-owned and operated and is based out of Elk Grove in the Sacramento area. As an independent agency, we play a distinct role in the communities we serve. We’re not ‘captive,’ which means that we’re not obligated to serve the interests of any single insurance company; we serve the interests of our clients.
We interact with individuals and organizations within our communities on a personal level and not just as professionals. This helps us stay informed about local happenings, and establish and nurture connections that help us contribute to the community. Our aim is to make Elk Grove, Sacramento and our surrounding communities better places to live and work.
We support and participate in the Rotary Clubs of Elk Grove and Laguna Sunrise. The involvement of both of these clubs in local events and projects help to make our city socially and economically stronger. Through these clubs we directly sponsor Elk Grove Food Bank Services, the Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation, and other groups that provide assistance to the local community.
Also through our Rotary Clubs, we provide scholarships to local students; we nurture positive growth in the area young citizens through the high school Interact Clubs. This spring we hosted the first Math Attack, a mathematics challenge for middle school students to encourage an interest in the wonderful fields of math and science.
We support local charities and help restaurants, wineries, and breweries share their products and find recognition by participating in the annual Taste of Elk Grove. We sponsor and participate in the Running of the Elk, a local footrace promoting healthy lifestyles, which benefits the Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation. Another local race that we support is the Run4Hunger; a race that benefits the Elk Grove Food Bank. We not only sponsor this race, but we also help promote it and donate our time to work the day of the race.
We’re members of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce and the Elk Grove Harvesters chapter of Business Networking International (BNI), both of which have a mission to help businesses succeed. BNI uses a structured marketing program to help business owners forge relationships with other business owners and professionals. The organization embodies the philosophy that ‘givers gain,’ which means that sharing thoughts, ideas, and contacts helps businesses flourish. We embody this philosophy in how we provide products and services.
For us, being involved in the community is integral to being successful as a business and to contributing to the areas we serve. We get to know the people and organizations around us better, and we learn how to be better professionals. We’re proud of our personal and professional connections throughout Elk Grove, Sacramento, and other areas in California.
